APEC DEW 2009 will precede the 14th APEC WLN Meeting and it will be held at the Raffles City Convention Centre on August 3rd (from 8.30am to 6.00pm). The Forum is organised by the Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center of Sookmyung Women’s University of Korea in partnership with the Singapore Federation of Business & Professional Women (Singapore). It is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy of Korea and hosted by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports of Singapore.

The theme of APEC DEW 2009 is “Sustaining the Successful Leadership Role of Women in ICTs”. This underscores the importance of developing the ICT capability of women leaders so as to enhance women’s role in info-com technology. Distinguished speakers will share their insights and research on women’s role in ICT capacity-building and skills development, and on fostering an ICT-enabled environment and supporting policies.
