The Financial Womens Association (FWA)
The Financial Womens Association Singapore was formed by a group of Singapore women finance professionals
in 2001. The FWA is a global association originally started in New York in 1956 and is a leading executive
organization of 1100 members committed to shaping women leaders in business and finance.
The FWA Singapore seeks to promote and advance the standard of professionalism in the financial services
industry with special emphasis on the role of the development of women in Singapore.
Since inception, FWA Singapore has become the premier public platform for networking amongst women
finance professionals, raising awareness of corporate social responsibility, enabling graduate recruitment of
young Singaporean women who are studying finance and business in tertiary education centres as well as
mentoring our syounger women in this largely male dominated industry. Our members sit on a variety of boards
in the public and private domain as well as many charity initiatives. We regularly provide feedback to the
Singapore government on various issues notably in the sphere of issues for workingwomen in Singapore. Our
FWA Advisory Board is made of notable women members of the Singapore finance industry sorority.
The Peranakan Museum
The Peranakan Museum explores the culture of Peranakan communities in the former Straits Settlements of
Singapore, Malacca and Penang and their links with other communities in Southeast Asia. It is a boutique
museum with the finest and most comprehensive collection of Peranakan artifacts in the world. Three floors
of permanent galleries illustrate important rituals, practices and the material culture of the Peranakans, as well
as how this unique fusion culture is viewed today.
The Peranakan Museum provides an enjoyable and educational experience for all, with intricate displays
innovatively presented in ten galleries, childrens interactives and special merchandising in two shops. Two
temporary exhibition galleries will present a programme of special exhibitions throughout the year.

True Blue Cuisine, Peranakan Boutique Restaurant
True Blue Cuisine started in late 2003 in a pre-war shophouse in the Peranakan enclave of Katong. The
restaurants aim was to serve the best authentic Peranakan cuisine to Singapore and the world. It was set
up jointly with Benjamins mother, Daisy Seah, a well-respected Peranakan chef.
Acclaimed Best New Restaurant by Wine and Dine in 2004, True Blue Cuisine has been on their Top Ten list
of restaurants. It was also awarded one of Singapores Best Restaurants for 2007 by Singapore Tatler. In its
Armenian Street location, True Blue cuisine warmly welcomes you to an exquisite taste of Peranakan. Their
specialty includes delicious take-home pineapple tarts and traditional tidbits. |
