The National Museum of Singapore
A cultural icon, the National Museum of Singapore was established in 1887. It closed in 2003 and reopened
in December 2006 after a three-year renovation costing $$132 million. The Museum prides itself on introducing
cutting-edge ways of presenting history, redefining the conventional museum experience. In April 2008, it
welcomed its millionth visitor. The Museums History Gallery showcases Singapores history from the 14th
century to the present as a multitude of stories by employing state-of-the-art modes of presentation and using
narrative approaches inspired by contemporary film, installation and theatre. |
