Singapore Association of Women Lawyers
Singapore Association of Women Lawyers (SAWL) is a professional body and a non-profit charitable organization.
SAWL was formed in 1974 by a group of 16 lawyers and was founded with a cause to serve the community.
Since then, SAWL has made significant contributions to simplify the law for the ordinary person, the conduct
of clinics to the needy in more than 10 community centres in Singapore and they form and manage their own
charity by awarding scholarships to physically disabled students through the Tan Ah Tah SAWL Fund.

Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is a modern building with emphasis on technology and functionality. It is a huge building
consisting of six stories. The Courtrooms are constructed in three different sizes to allow for greater flexibility
and the better management of court resources. All courtrooms are equipped with network points and parties
can bring in their notebook computers to access the Internet.

The Supreme Court also consists of an Auditorium which can seat up to 600 persons and is used for the
Opening of the Legal Year ceremony. There are conference rooms, separate witness rooms for each party,
the hearing chambers and even a childrens court. The Supreme Court also has a gallery which chronicles
significant developments in Singapores legal history as well as major legal milestones since the founding of
Singapore in 1819.
